North Rhine-Westphalia: Unknown people throw freight train and damage windshield

Essen (dpa / lnw) - Unknown people threw an object at a moving freight train in Essen on Sunday evening and damaged the windscreen. The train driver informed the federal police after seeing three strangers and the window was badly damaged, according to a police statement on Monday.

The suspects are said to have thrown objects onto the track on a pedestrian bridge over the railway line from Essen to Gelsenkirchen when the freight train passed under the bridge. According to the police, no one was injured. The alleged perpetrators are now being investigated because of the dangerous intervention in rail traffic and property damage.
