Politics Belarra revolts under pressure from Sánchez for an agreement with Sumar: "Let him concentrate on governing"

The seams of the coalition continue to tighten after Yolanda Díaz has made her candidacy for the Presidency of the Government official under the Sumar brand and outside of Podemos. This formation has made visible this Thursday its discomfort with the majority partner of the bicolor government after the continuous calls for all the parties located to its left to present themselves with a single ballot for the general elections that will be called at the end of the year.

"I ask the PSOE to concentrate on governing. There is practically a year left in the legislature and we cannot spend all the time doing electoralism," warned the leader of the purples, Ione Belarra. "What you have to do is govern and approve the Housing Law, which is extremely urgent for the people of our country, and also once and for all bump into the basic shopping basket," he added in statements to the media during a visit to the ecological trail of the Tagus River in Toledo.

The straw that broke the camel's back for the patience of the leaders of Podemos was the message conveyed by Pedro Sánchez expressing his desire that "all the pieces of the puzzle fit", that is, that they be integrated into Díaz's project. This approach by the President of the Government places them as one more piece within the fragmented spectrum of the left instead of as one of the catalysts for the convergence, which is the leading role they want to assume.

On the possibility of reaching an agreement, Belarra has said that the formation he leads has shown that it is capable of building "more unity candidacies than ever" to contest the regional and municipal elections in May, including Castilla-La Mancha and Valencia . "Now it's up to Yolanda to decide if she wants to be the unit's candidate. She won't be there for us," she said, reports Servimedia.

According to the also Minister of Social Rights, "Podemos has a well-proven service record": "We have shown that a large space can be built in which we are comfortable and well represented." In this sense, he has insisted that his party's intention is to have a coalition agreement with Díaz, for whom they consider it essential that there be primary elections prior to the preparation of the electoral lists, but that the ball is now "in your roof".

"It is evident that the media related to the PSOE are going to tell her that she can shoot alone, without Podemos. We think that we need a strong Podemos to revalidate the coalition government and, above all, to fulfill our most important political objective, which it is to be the first political force in that government, because there are some changes that will not come until Podemos has the leadership of the Government. We aspire to close that coalition agreement between the Government and Sumar", concluded Belarra.
