Bitterfeld-Wolfen (dpa/sa) - A 42-year-old man was life-threateningly injured in a scuffle in an apartment building in Bitterfeld-Wolfen (Anhalt-Bitterfeld district). A 23-year-old is suspect, as the police and prosecutors announced on Monday. He is being investigated for attempted homicide. According to initial findings, the 42-year-old is said to have suddenly shot the younger man with a gas pressure pistol on Saturday. The 23-year-old is said to have stabbed the older man several times with a sharp object.
The 42-year-old was taken to a hospital. The 23-year-old was reportedly slightly injured. An arrest warrant was issued against him. He was taken into custody. According to the police, the background to the crime is still unclear, as is the extent to which the two men knew each other.
