Saxony-Anhalt: Fourth round of collective bargaining for the metal and electrical industry

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The metal and electrical industry in Saxony-Anhalt will enter the fourth round of collective bargaining on Friday. This was announced by the IG Metall trade union on Monday. The third round of negotiations had remained unsuccessful at the end of October. There were warning strikes in some companies in the state.

While IG Metall is demanding, among other things, eight percent more money for employees in the important core industry in order to stabilize purchasing power against high inflation, companies are pointing to escalating costs for energy and raw materials. According to the Niedersachsenmetall association, around 10,000 employees are affected by the collective bargaining in Saxony-Anhalt.
