Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) today invited representatives from business, associations and municipalities to a joint energy summit. In a joint discussion, solutions are to be found in view of the high energy prices and an impending emergency for the economy and households. Representatives from the Federal Ministry of Economics are also to take part in the summit.
In particular, some companies that are particularly dependent on gas are under massive pressure. Among other things, the state is hoping for financial support from the federal government, similar to the utility Uniper.
Before that, the cabinet in Magdeburg is also dealing with possible ways out of an impending energy shortage in winter. In the afternoon (3 p.m.) Haseloff and Energy Minister Armin Willingmann (SPD) want to inform about the results of both meetings.
