Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Autumn in Saxony-Anhalt continues to be very mild. At the start of the new week, temperatures could reach the 20-degree mark in places, said a spokesman for the German Weather Service (DWD). It should remain clear overall, but it could get a little windier in the south on Monday. At the end of the week, up to 24 degrees are even possible in some parts of the country.
The meteorologists were already expecting values of around 20 degrees for Sunday. "This is the most beautiful weather for excursions with lots of sunshine." According to the DWD, it was also largely sunny in the country on Saturday, with 21 degrees north of Magdeburg.
A low pressure area in the Atlantic that regenerates repeatedly is responsible for the mild temperatures. As a result, warm and humid air masses of subtropical origin are repeatedly directed towards Central Europe.
