Saxony-Anhalt: More than a million property damage in a barn fire

Eilenstedt (dpa/sa) - A fire in a barn in the Eilenstedt district of Haus Nienburg (Harz district) caused a great deal of property damage. The damage is estimated at around 1.7 million euros, as the police announced early Monday morning. It could take a few more days for the extinguishing work to be completed. When the fire brigade arrived at the scene of the fire on Saturday night, the barn was already on fire. According to the police, around 2,500 straw bales and a photovoltaic system on the roof burned in it. It was initially unclear how the fire started.
