Oschersleben (dpa/sa) - With the signing of a purchase agreement by an investor, the restructuring of the confectionery manufacturer Bodeta is to be completed. "Together with an investor with industry experience, Bodeta can now take all the necessary steps for a fresh start," said the managing director of the company from Oschersleben in the Börde district, Markus Letsch, on Tuesday. The plan is to keep the site and the remaining 100 jobs.
Accordingly, the transfer of operations is planned for January 1st. Only then will the investor go public. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
At the end of September this year, the company filed an application for insolvency proceedings under self-administration with the district court in Magdeburg. One of the reasons for this was the rising energy prices for production.
Bodeta Confectionery was founded in 1892. The company specializes in the production of sweets and dragees. Bodeta is best known for its green-packaged eucalyptus menthol candies.
