Saxony-Anhalt: party leaders praise the work of the coalition

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The chairmen of the state parties of the CDU, SPD and FDP have shown satisfaction with the work of the black-red-yellow coalition in the first year. FDP country chief Lydia Hüskens told the German Press Agency: "The coalition has got off to a good start. Problems are discussed internally and solved together." On August 9, 2021, the three partners in Saxony-Anhalt agreed on an alliance.

CDU country chief Sven Schulze praised the work in the first year. "I'm very satisfied." In the area of agriculture, the biggest goal of his party was to sit at the same table with the respective associations again. "We succeeded." The CDU took over agriculture from the Greens in September, who were replaced by the FDP in the state government.

The Social Democrats are also satisfied. "After a year, it's clear that the SPD's decision to join the coalition was the right one," says state head Andreas Schmidt. The coalition is working calmly and prudently. Co-Chair Juliane Kleemann announced that in the coming months climate policy and the restructuring of the energy landscape would be given greater attention. The pressing issues will be addressed, she said.
