Lützen (dpa/sa) - An 83-year-old patient died in an accident between an ambulance and a van in Lützen (Burgenlandkreis), two people were injured. As the police announced on Saturday, the two vehicles collided on Friday in the Muschwitz district. The ambulance went off the road and hit a tree. The 83-year-old occupant of the transport died at the scene of the accident. According to the police, the drive was not a rescue operation, so the van was on the road without blue lights.
The driver of the ambulance was seriously injured and a rescue helicopter took him to the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was slightly injured. According to the police, it is still unclear exactly how the accident happened.
