Saxony-Anhalt: plus inheritance and gift tax in Saxony-Anhalt

Halle (dpa/sa) - The tax offices in Saxony-Anhalt set 25.5 million euros in inheritance and gift taxes last year. That was 2.7 million euros or 11.8 percent more than in the previous year, as announced by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Wednesday. A total of 1,864 inheritances and gifts with assets totaling EUR 224.6 million were recorded, on which a tax was assessed for the first time. Inheritance tax of 21.9 million euros accounted for the larger part, which was 4.4 percent more than in the previous year. Taxes on donations amounted to 3.6 million euros, which corresponded to an increase of 96.8 percent.
