Saxony-Anhalt: Saalekreis closes donation collection point for Ukrainians

Merseburg (dpa/sa) - Due to the sharp drop in willingness to donate, the Saale district will close the central donation camp for war refugees from Ukraine on August 31. The warehouse was well received and frequented, the district said on Monday. In the meantime, however, fewer donations have been received. In addition, identical offers would be made by Works gGmbH and by the multi-generation house in Merseburg, where donations in kind could continue to be made. District Administrator Hartmut Handschak (independent) thanked the citizens for their support.
