Saxony: Dresden warns against swimming in fountains

Dresden (dpa/sn) - The city of Dresden has warned against refreshing in fountains when it's hot. This is not only dangerous, but also prohibited, the city announced on Tuesday. The well water is unhealthy because it is usually only circulated and hardly filtered. The germ load can make you sick. In addition, people could be injured by steel edges, nozzles and spotlights in the fountain or slip on the pool floor. The city advised: "Please look elsewhere to cool down". People could refresh themselves in the outdoor pools or on water playgrounds.
