Saxony: High property damage after fire in furniture store

Hoyerswerda (dpa/sn) - A warehouse fire in a furniture store in Hoyerswerda (Bautzen district) caused damage of 220,000 euros. A large part of it - 170,000 euros - was for the destroyed goods, the rest for the damage to the building, as the police announced on Tuesday. It is still unclear why exactly the fire broke out on Monday afternoon. The extinguishing work lasted around two hours. Nobody was injured in the fire. According to the police, a fire investigator examined the building on Tuesday.
