Saxony: Investigations after an attack on journalists in Lusatia

Neukirch/Lausitz (dpa/sn) - State security took over the investigation in the case of the attack on the chief reporter and a photographer from the magazine "Cicero" in Lusatia. It's about damage to property, threats, coercion and insults, as the Görlitz police department announced on Tuesday. We are looking for witnesses to the attack on the sidelines of an event in a restaurant last Friday in Neukirch/Lausitz (Bautzen district). The journalists were insulted and there were scuffles. When the journalists later went to their car, the strangers followed them outside and damaged it.

"Cicero" chief reporter Moritz Gathmann reported on the events on Facebook at the weekend. Afterwards they were pushed by neo-Nazis in an inn at the forum of the "Bautzner Frieden" association, insulted and hindered in their research. When they wanted to leave the place later, two masked people yelled "Get lost", "Fuck off", banged on car doors and windows and smashed a side mirror.
