The fire was prevented from spreading. The operational area still covers an area of around 150 hectares.
In addition to twelve firefighting helicopters, around 550 firefighters were also on duty on Thursday. "The heat makes things difficult for the emergency services during the hard physical work. But they get enough fluids. In addition, attention is paid to taking breaks," explained Benamara. Temperatures of more than 30 degrees already prevailed in the morning on Thursday.
The fire broke out eleven days ago in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and then spread to the Saxon Switzerland National Park. On the Czech side, according to the local authorities, the fire is under control.
