Saxony: More road accidents in Saxony

Kamenz (dpa/sn) - In the first seven months of 2022, the police in Saxony recorded more road accidents than in the same period last year. As reported by the State Statistical Office on Wednesday, a total of 54,541 accidents were recorded from January to July, which is an increase of 3.7 percent. People were injured in 7,319 accidents, which corresponds to an increase of 18.9 percent. According to the information, 63 people died. The number of serious and minor injuries increased compared to the same period last year. The most common cause of serious accidents was an inappropriate speed.
