Zeithain (dpa/sn) - The police arrested a 14-year-old in Zeithain as a suspected arsonist. The occasion was a fire in a forest in the city area. "The young person is suspected of having set two different fires in the wooded area, each of which spread to around 500 square meters," said the Dresden police department on Friday. The boy was arrested in a nearby commercial area and was due to be brought before a magistrate on Friday.
Police are investigating whether the youth could be involved in other fires in the area. At the end of June there was a major forest fire in Gohrischheide near Zeithain on the border of Brandenburg and Saxony, which kept the fire brigade in suspense for days.
