Dresden (dpa/sn) - The state press conference (LPK) Saxony has awarded its negative prize "Tonstör" for the year 2022 to the AfD state association. The association of state political journalists criticizes restrictions on the AfD at their party conference in July last year in Löbau, the LPK announced on Wednesday. This was not only shown in the refusal to accredit a correspondent of Chemnitz's "Freie Presse" for the party congress. According to the AfD, the number of media representatives has also been severely restricted for reasons of space. The LPK said there was no question of a cramped situation on site.
"For the jury, the circumstances of the party congress showed again that the AfD state association in Saxony would like to continue to make reporting on internal party events more difficult," it said. The party had already received the "sound disturbance" in 2018 due to similar incidents.
