Zschopau (dpa/sn) - Two young women were seriously injured in an accident in the parking lot of a shopping center in Zschopau (Ore Mountains) on Thursday evening. The two drivers of the cars involved suffered minor injuries, said the Chemnitz police department on Friday. There is a suspicion of an illegal car race.
According to the police report, the drivers between the ages of 24 and 35 drove in a row of parking spaces. When the younger man signaled to the left and turned right into a parking space, the collision occurred. Another car was pushed over the curb by the impact and injured a pedestrian (20). The second injured person - also aged 20 - was the driver in the car that was involved in the accident through no fault of her own.
