Saxony: Threat against Church: No explosive devices discovered

Leipzig (dpa / sn) - A threat against a church in Leipzig triggered a large-scale police operation on Sunday night. A police spokesman said on Sunday that information about a crime against a church was received via an emergency call app. The management staff was then set up. During the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified. In addition, three churches in the district of Böhlitz-Ehrenberg were searched. "No evidence of explosive devices was found," said the police spokesman.

In addition to a special task force, explosives experts, service dogs and officials from the State Criminal Police Office and a negotiating group were deployed. Investigations into the 36-year-old suspect are ongoing. The police did not want to give further details for investigative reasons.
