The neighborhood dispute with Jens Lehmann is entering the next round. After the former football professional had damaged his neighbor's garage on Lake Starnberg, the injured person spoke to the "Bild" newspaper. "I feel threatened, I don't think my neighbors are sane," said the 91-year-old. Lehmann is said to have even threatened the neighbor's partner on the phone. In the meantime, the man had moved into his Munich city apartment out of fear of Lehmann.
Lehmann is said to have been so dissatisfied with a building project by his neighbor on Lake Starnberg that he resorted to drastic measures and triggered a police operation. Because the neighbor's new garage blocks his view of the water, the 52-year-old grabbed a chainsaw and climbed onto the roof of the shell, according to the "Bild" newspaper. Some roof beams were destroyed, the 61-time former German international then tried to cover his tracks.
But his actions did not go unnoticed. Although Lehmann is said to have severed the cable of the surveillance camera before his chainsaw plan, thanks to a battery, it is said to have recorded quite clear images. The neighbor then called the police, who then stood in front of Lehmann's door and began investigating.
According to the "Bild" newspaper, the two parties involved in the dispute met again at the police station on Wednesday. Two officers then accompanied the 91-year-old to his car. "I was afraid to meet my neighbor," said the man. As the newspaper continues to write, Lehmann and his neighbor in the posh residential area south-west of Munich have been at odds for some time.
