Reinsdorf (dpa/th) - A 25-year-old driver first lost control of his vehicle and was then found sleeping in the driver's seat at the scene of the accident. According to the police, the young man was driving on the main road on Monday night when he suddenly left the road and crashed into a garbage can. He dragged it about 200 meters with him. Witnesses saw the accident and went to administer first aid to the man, but found him sleeping in his car.
A breath alcohol test showed the 25-year-old was 1.2 per mille. He also tested positive for drugs. Police say the cause of the accident was a combination of alcohol and drugs. Officers confiscated the man's driver's license and launched an investigation.
