Thuringia: Drunken driver falls asleep after an accident on the A9

Schleiz (dpa/th) - After an accident, a driver fell asleep in the crashed car on Autobahn 9 in Thuringia. Police officers who were summoned woke up the man early on Sunday morning, whose damaged van, according to the police, was half in the ditch next to the lane near the Schleiz junction. The driver reacted "visibly displeased" when he saw the officials. An alcohol test on the man showed 1.37 per mille. According to police, the van was no longer drivable and was towed away. The exact course of the accident was initially unclear. The driver had to deposit a security deposit of 500 euros by order of the public prosecutor.
