Thuringia: High property damage in an accident on a slippery road

Ilmenau (dpa/th) - On a slippery road near Ilmenau, a driver crashed into the construction of a roundabout on Saturday night despite all-wheel drive. The 60-year-old was unharmed, police said on Saturday. However, the material damage to the car and roundabout is high at a total of 52,000 euros. On Friday there had been traffic problems throughout Thuringia due to snowfall and ice, but accidents were mostly minor.
