Thuringia: panel doctors: austerity measures and inflation endanger practices

Weimar (dpa/th) - The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Thuringia (KVT) has called for full inflation compensation for outpatient practices in view of rising prices. The lack of a price adjustment endangers the financial existence of resident doctors and psychotherapists as well as medical care centers, criticized the KVT on Saturday. "Saving at the expense of doctors' and psychotherapists' practices always means saving at the expense of patient health." The fact that the health insurance companies have been demanding zero rounds for years, regardless of the price development, proves a lack of appreciation for the services of contract doctors and contract psychotherapists, it said.
