Erfurt (dpa/th) - Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) is pushing for decisions on energy aid at the federal-state meeting in early November. Without clear federal regulations, including the gas price cap, the state's aid program could not start, said the left-wing politician on Wednesday in Erfurt. Together with representatives of his party, he presented a paper on energy policy in the crisis.
Thuringia's state parliament has already approved an aid fund with a volume of 407 million euros. The money is intended to provide aid where federal regulations do not apply. Among other things, the state wants to step in in cases of hardship if Thuringians are unable to pay their energy bills through no fault of their own or if they cannot find a new provider.
