The payments, which are planned for 2023, should be legally secured as minimum funding in the long term, said SPD MP Denny Möller on Thursday in the state parliament in Erfurt. "We need this planning security." The draft law, which the Red-Red-Green Party introduced in the state parliament, involves amounts in the tens of millions.
According to information from spokesmen for the coalition factions, around 17.5 million euros are earmarked for local youth development alone in the coming year. For school social work it is 26.1 million euros, a state program for the coexistence of generations is endowed with 14.2 million euros and the state youth support plan with 4.8 million euros.
MPs Kati Engel (Left Party) and Astrid Rothe-Beinlich (Green Party) said it was about more financial security, for example for youth clubs, youth clubs, the salaries of social workers or youth training centers. The funding level would also be raised in certain areas. Then the municipalities would not have to worry every year "whether offers can be continued," said Rothe-Beinlich. She hopes for the approval of the CDU parliamentary group.
The largest opposition group wants to continue discussing the project of the minority coalition in the state parliament committees - also from a financial point of view, said CDU budget politician Maik Kowalleck. AfD MP Uwe Thrum also rejected the bill for cost reasons. From the point of view of the AfD, this would only solidify a failed family policy of red-red-green.
