Altenburg (dpa/th) - A person died in a terraced house fire in Altenburg. The house is in danger of collapsing due to the fire that broke out early Sunday morning after a loud bang, the police said on Sunday. The property damage is provisionally estimated at at least 100,000 euros. The police could not yet provide any information on the identity of the fire victim and the possible cause of the fire.
The upper floor of the mid-terrace house caught fire first, then the fire spread to a full fire. However, it could be deleted. Neighbors could have left their houses unharmed.
At the weekend, the police also reported a barn fire in Leina (Gotha district). A large number of fire brigades from the region prevented it from spreading to neighboring buildings. The property damage was estimated at around 20,000 euros.
