Thuringia: Shrove Monday parades: Ramelow looks at Zug in Greiz

Greiz/Sondershausen (dpa/th) - Beyond the carnival strongholds on the Rhine and Main, there are also Rose Monday parades in Thuringia in some places - albeit on a much smaller scale. On Monday, Greiz (1.00 p.m.) is firmly in the hands of the foolish people - it is the 25th anniversary of the Shrove Monday parade. Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) also wants to stop by. However, most of the carnival parades in Thuringia took place on the weekend before Shrove Monday. Thousands of fools were on their feet in many places on Saturday and Sunday. In Düsseldorf, Cologne or Mainz, the Shrove Monday parades are the highlight of the "fifth season".
