Is this still a normal vaccine reaction or is it permanent vaccine damage? In Thuringia, the authorities have to clarify this in dozens of suspected cases after Covid 19 vaccinations.

Erfurt (dpa/th) - According to the state administration office, twelve vaccination damages after corona vaccinations have been officially recognized in Thuringia. These include two deaths, as a spokeswoman for the authorities said on request. According to the Robert Koch Institute, around 4.28 million injections against Covid-19 have been administered in Thuringia since the start of the vaccination campaign two years ago. By the beginning of December, the state administration office had received 236 applications for recognition of vaccination damage. 36 of the applications that have been decided so far have ended in rejection, and in 24 cases objections are being raised by those affected.

According to the RKI, vaccination damage is defined as "the health and economic consequences of damage to health caused by the vaccination that goes beyond the usual extent of a vaccination reaction". The damage must last at least six months. If you want to claim vaccination damage, you have to submit an application to the state administration office in Thuringia. This requests the medical documents from the attending physicians and checks whether the vaccination is actually the cause.

So far, a total of six applications in Thuringia have been about deaths. One was rejected, in three cases the processing is still ongoing, according to the spokeswoman for the authorities. For comparison: In Thuringia, more than 8,000 people who had been infected with the corona virus have died since the pandemic began.

According to the current report from the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI), which is responsible for vaccine safety, from December 27, 2020 to October 31, 2022, almost 0.3 suspected cases of serious reactions per 1000 vaccinated doses were reported across Germany. This corresponds to a total of around 50,000 individual reports. If vaccination damage is officially recognized, those affected are entitled to a monthly basic pension. The amount depends on how serious the health damage is. Widows and widowers of those who can be proven to have died from vaccination damage, as well as their half or full orphans, are also entitled to a basic pension.
