Thuringia: State parliament wants to decide on energy aid fund

Erfurt (dpa/th) - In a special session on Friday (9:00 a.m.) the state parliament is to decide on the establishment of an energy aid fund financed from state funds. In the so-called special fund outside the state budget, a total of 407 million euros is to be made available this year, primarily for companies, but also for clubs and private households, which are particularly suffering from the massive increase in energy costs. In order to fill this fund, 57 million euros from the Corona aid fund set up by the state are to be rededicated and now used to fight the energy crisis. According to the plans, the remaining 350 million euros are to be taken from the state's reserve.

The Left, SPD, Greens and CDU agreed on setting up the fund on Wednesday after long negotiations.
