Erfurt (dpa/th) - In view of the high inflation, many of the organizations involved in the Thuringian State Youth Council are concerned about the ability to finance their offers. There is hope that the price increases will be taken into account in the amount of funding from the state and municipalities in the coming year, said the managing director of the state youth council, Peter Weise, on Saturday in Erfurt. It is about, for example, the financing of youth clubs and meetings or youth camps and educational opportunities.
"A lot of it is getting more expensive," said Weise. But it's not just about local youth development, for which the state wants to make 17.5 million euros available to the municipalities in the coming year, according to the government's draft budget. According to Weise, this is an increase of around one million euros compared to this year. It is also about the state youth development program.
At its general meeting, the state youth council elected a new chairman, Björn Schröter from the DGB Jugend. He replaces Björn Uhrig from the Boy Scouts. The Landesjugendring Thuringia is a community of currently 27 youth organizations active throughout the state.
