Erfurt (dpa/th) - In the trial for an allegedly right-wing motivated and racist attack, a victim is expected to testify on Wednesday (from 9.30 a.m.) before the Erfurt Regional Court. The man is to take the witness stand to describe his view of the assault that the ten defendants are accused of. According to the public prosecutor, nine men and one woman attacked a total of three men from Guinea in the south-east of the state capital in August 2020. The accused are assigned to the right-wing extremist scene.
The attack happened just a few meters from a property where a right-wing extremist group had rented rooms at the time. During the attack, the victims were racially insulted by the accused, a prosecutor said when the indictment was read out. The shouts should have helped incite others to commit violence. At the start of the trial, one of the defendants made allegations against the victims.
