Tricks How to clean a transparent mobile phone case

Protecting our mobile phone with a case is essential to try to extend the life of the device. Although the first decision when choosing armor for the smartphone is usually which material to choose (silicone, resin, leather, with a lid...), many users also ponder between choosing a black or a transparent case, especially if the phone is white or some other color. The reluctance to opt for a translucent casing is that it shows more of the dirt that accumulates and ends up spoiling, acquiring yellowish tones. However, that should not be an impediment to showing off a colorful phone, as long as you know how to clean a transparent phone case. Here are some homemade tricks to restore all its splendor to the protector.

To begin with, an axiom of cleaning in general: it is better to regularly clean any object than to face a dog-faced battle against encrusted dirt. In our case, a quick weekly face wash is enough to maintain a transparent case without yellowing parts. Although it is obvious, in all the following methods the first step is always to remove the phone case to prevent the device from getting wet.

For lightly soiled housings, a little soapy water is sufficient. In a container we put warm water and soap (it can be neutral or dishwasher; with a small trickle it is enough) and we apply the mixture in the cover (previously separated from the mobile, of course) with the help of a toothbrush or soft sponge. You have to take special care in the corners and in the holes for the camera, speaker and battery plug. Then all that remains is to rinse with lukewarm water and dry thoroughly with a cloth. It should be remembered that the phone should not be reassembled until the case is completely dry.

The cleaning liquid for glasses is also used to clean computer and mobile phone screens and can be a good ally to keep the transparent case of the smartphone looking like new. As simple as spraying the casing, both on the outside and inside, and dry well with the chamois. Of course, it is recommended to use a different cloth from the glasses to prevent the dirt removed from the case from ending up on the lenses. An alternative is to use household glass cleaner, always in a small amount.

If the cover has a little more dirt than usual, nothing better than the power of lemon. We mix lukewarm water, a splash of soap and the juice of a lemon in a container. We introduce the casing and leave it submerged for one or two hours. After time, if there are still embedded remains, we can always rub the two halves of the lemon used on the surface. Next, rinse with plenty of lukewarm water and dry with a cloth.

Baking soda is a classic ingredient in household cleaning as it is effective at removing stains, whitening and cleaning. Just what a transparent mobile phone case needs when it is punished by the passage of time and the lack of regular cleaning. A heaping tablespoon of baking soda and a little water should be mixed to create a paste that will then be applied to the case with a toothbrush or cloth, rubbing. The solution must be left to act for at least an hour before rinsing and drying.

If the case has not been cleaned and the dirt and yellow color has taken over the armor, bleach is the weapon of choice. However, this ingredient should only be used in good quality transparent covers. Handling the disinfectant with care and the protection of gloves, you must mix three parts of water and two parts of bleach in a container where we will later put the cover and leave it submerged for between 30 and 45 minutes. After that time, and again with the gloves on, we take it out and rub it with a toothbrush or sponge until all the dirt and yellowish areas are removed. Finally, rinse with plenty of water and dry with a cloth.
