Ubaye-Serre-Poncon. Personal rescue training for eleven young firefighters

Commonly, firefighters are referred to simply as firefighters. Their interventions in forest and house fires are only a small part of the many missions they undertake throughout the year. Personal rescue is the most important action in almost all rescue centres. Operations that require high-level technical skills to respond quickly to emergencies of daily life or health. After being recruited, young volunteers receive training over a four-day course that is followed by five days of additional training.

This type of training was recently held at the Ubaye-Serre-Poncon rescue center. Three trainers were present to train 11 young recruits and Warrant Officer Fabien Allaud. The rescue centers of Sisteron, Manosque and Le Thord were home to young volunteer firefighters. Fabien Allaud points out that this is the gateway to all future training and there are many and varied.

The young trainees, stuffed with new first aid techniques, returned home at the end of four days.
