The Jean-Pommier swimming area at the Polygone will be closed to the public in July and August. This was enough to prompt the Socialist Party of Valence to react.
The socialist party announces that it will offer an outdoor pool for the Valentinois during the summer, "in the event of a change in majority". The same reaction was shown by the three municipal council members of the Ecologist, Popular Left and the Municipal Council of the Ecologist. They stated that Nicolas Daragon, by closing the Tournesol and Valensolles swimming pools, has created an unnamed mess in the public infrastructures of our public infrastructures through his politics. Swimming pools are community facilities. The Jean-Pommier swimming pools close in July afternoons so that swimming lessons can be held. In August, however, there is a shortage of lifeguards (MNS). This profession is under tension throughout France. The Agglo estimates it has "two to four MNS" to monitor all its basins this summer. (Read our July edition).
