War in Ukraine Poland, ready to hand over all its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

The President of Poland said Wednesday that his country is willing to deliver to kyiv "in the future" all its remaining fleet of Soviet-designed MiG-29 fighters, some thirty aircraft.

Poland has already delivered eight MiG-29s to Ukraine and will send another six soon.

President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Zelenski, visiting Warsaw, that "in the future" his country will be able to deliver to Ukraine "the whole of its MiG fleet", that is to say about thirty aircraft.

Said delivery must have the approval of its NATO partners, explained the Polish president.

In addition, both leaders have signed a memorandum for the reconstruction of Ukraine and an agreement on the joint production of tank ammunition.

The announcement, made public by the office of the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, came after the meeting that the Ukrainian president and the head of the Polish Executive held on Wednesday.

Speaking to the Polish media, Morawiecki stated that "Poland was the first to warn against Russia and the first to support Ukraine. Now it wants to be the first to participate in the reconstruction" of that country.

The economic cooperation memorandum between the two countries includes a project for the collaboration of strategic Polish and Ukrainian companies in sectors such as energy.

Among the issues discussed during this visit is the commercial exchange between the two countries, with special attention to the conflict generated by the importation of Ukrainian cereals to Poland.

The accumulation in Polish silos of large quantities of grain from Ukraine and the collapse of prices on the national market has led to massive protests by farmers at various points on the border with Ukraine and this Wednesday, the Polish Minister of Agriculture, Henryk Kowalczyk announced his resignation.
