Defense 14 Ukrainian soldiers arrive in Spain to treat their war wounds

A total of 14 wounded Ukrainian soldiers have flown from Poland to Zaragoza this Tuesday, February 21, to be treated for the injuries they have from the fighting at the front. As reported by Defense, the medicalized A400M has brought these soldiers, who suffer amputations and severe injuries, to be treated in Spain.

The Ministry activated a treatment program for Ukrainian soldiers months ago in which they have already participated, adding to these 14 new soldiers, a total of 57 officers. All have been treated at the Hospital de la Defensa de Zaragoza, where they also provide psychological and psychiatric support, rehabilitation and physiotherapy. They are also facilitated with the procedures to access the Spanish health system and once they are discharged, the doctors continue to be in contact with them. In total, 25 soldiers have already been discharged and have returned to Ukraine.

Spain is committed to the Ukrainian army within its possibilities. In addition to the combat wounded treatment programme, the Ministry of Defense participates in a European Union personnel training mission. Basic training programs are carried out at the Toledo Academy as well as specific training courses.
