The National Police have arrested a teacher who taught private language classes for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The arrest occurred after the father of two minors appeared at the National Police premises on February 7 to denounce the private class teacher he had hired to teach English and German to his children since November 2022, according to reports. informed the National Police Corps in a press release.
The man gave private classes to the two brothers at his home and the younger of the two told her parents that the teacher had sexually abused her, specifically, and according to the parent's complaint, the girl told them that on some occasion the teacher had performed certain actions of a sexual nature.
The detainee, around 50 years old, is a man of German nationality and Afghan origin, according to data that Europa Press has had access to.
With this information, the agents were able to carry out a series of investigations, finally proceeding to locate and arrest the alleged perpetrator of the events on February 10 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the same position being made available to the competent judicial authority. .
Currently, the investigation is still open by the Family and Women's Care Unit (UFAM), since the agents do not rule out that new victims could appear.
