Founded in 1892 in Pennsylvania, the manufacture established itself - in addition to the watchmaking world - in the world of cinema from the 1930s with a Hamilton timepiece which appeared in the film Shanghai Express with Marlene Dietrich, directed by Josef von Sternberg in 1932. A major first, spearheading nearly a century of partnership with the 7th art, since Hamilton watches have appeared nearly 500 times in cinemas. This cinematic breakthrough intensified in the 1950s, when Hamilton burst onto the screen again in The Frogmen, directed in 1951 by Lloyd Bacon, as well as by unveiling in 1957 his revolutionary model, then called "Ventura", imagined by visionary industrial designer Richard Arbib.
