A man is said to have murdered his partner and dismembered her body. He allegedly buried the body parts in a forest in New Delhi. Now the Indian police are arresting a suspect. The man is said to have been inspired by a US series "Dexter".

In India, police arrested a man who allegedly strangled his partner and hacked her body into 35 pieces. He then buried the pieces in a forest in the capital New Delhi for over two weeks - in the middle of the night so as not to arouse suspicion, the Indian news agency IANS reported, citing the police.

Last weekend she was able to arrest the alleged perpetrator and collect body parts with him in the forest. According to the police, the trained chef killed his partner, with whom he lived, after a dispute about marriage. He is said to have temporarily stored the pieces of her corpse in a newly purchased refrigerator. In fact, he was also inspired by the US crime series "Dexter". The case only came to light after the victim's father filed a missing person's report with police last week.

According to the police, the father broke off contact with his daughter a long time ago because he did not agree with her relationship with the alleged perpetrator and their living together. He learned from one of her friends that she had not been available for a long time. Surveillance camera footage eventually led the police to the man.
