Avoiding a Frightful Match
Not got anyone lined up for a Halloween date? Have no fear; online dating is here. It provides the perfect opportunity to meet individuals online and find out more about them before meeting in person, involving any full-on, real-life horror stories – eek!
Of course, there are plenty of parties around this time of year, from clubs and bars hoping to cash in on the Halloween trend. So, you might be able to find yourself a wicked witch or dreamy Dracula.
Now, if you have your partner sorted, here's where the real romance can begin.
Creepy Couples' Costumes
Is there even a point in having a partner around Halloween if you can't coordinate your costumes? Whether you're going for cute or creepy, there'll be something you can do as a "two".
The Nightmare Before Christmas's Jack and Sally is always a popular choice, but you can get creative and really think out of the box with any kind of pairing, really. Perhaps you could choose something based off a movie you both like, or a band? Alternatively, you can look for inspiration online. Anything and everything can be turned into a couples' costume, from Harley Quinn and the Joker, to a classic like Robin Hood and Maid Marian.
Of course, there's an entire market surrounding Halloween, all around the world. If you or your partner delights in all things Halloween, this gives you so much scope to combine your vacation time with some chills and thrills.
The tourism industry is well aware of the commercialism for Halloween, but they won't leave you feeling shortchanged. Venturing to Orlando, Florida or Southern California, for example, will give you so many possibilities. Disney has a "Not So Scary" Halloween party (which is the only time of year that they allow adults and children over eight years old to dress up in the park), while Universal offers something a little more "adult" with its Halloween Horror Nights. They hire actors to chase you around the park, while themed haunted houses give you an incredible opportunity to live out your horror movie dreams (well, nightmares).
Alternatively, why not venture on out to Salem, MA? It's arguably the birthplace of Halloween, as it's where the infamous Salem Witch Trials were held. They have an array of attractions year-round, such as an immersive theatre, various museums, and historic sites. October is where it really comes into its own, so combining a stay in a quaint water-side cottage could give you the perfect balance!
Halloween is fun for so many reasons – parties, dressing up, and all kinds of incredible events. Why not add to the fun by bringing someone else on board?Updated Date: 05 October 2017, 00:43
