A Dieudonné-Lalanne show scheduled: the Zénith de Paris in trouble

The Zenith of Paris insists on Tuesday on its "vigilance", in particular in terms of respect for "public order", concerning a show by Dieudonné, controversial comedian, and Francis Lalanne, singer antivax, in this room in September, recalling that a ban fell "to the competent authorities alone".

"It is necessary to keep in mind that the operator of the Zenith has no leeway to authorize or prohibit the presentation of a show", especially since it is "a show never presented to date, "said Daniel Colling, president of the Zénith, in a press release.

The prerogative "to prohibit a demonstration belongs only to the competent authorities (court, prefecture, council of State, etc.) and not to the operator of the hall", adds the manager.

"That being said, we maintain the greatest vigilance and will take all necessary measures if it turns out that the show does not comply with the clauses [...] of our general rental conditions", develops Daniel Colling.

In these conditions, it "is explicitly mentioned" that "the demonstration must be respectful of public order and good morals".

The Zénith also asked that it be communicated "the presentation of the show". "To date, we have no evidence (to suggest) that the latter can be legally reprehensible or questionable, in particular for incitement to hatred or disturbance of public order. »

Dieudonné, a humorist convicted of racial slurs and incitement to hatred, and Francis Lalanne have already tried to play their joint project La Cage aux fous at the Cirque d'hiver in Paris on April 7.

This room had it canceled because "the commercial offer presented to the Cirque d'hiver, which was that of farewell concerts by Francis Lalanne, did not correspond to the reality of what was really planned", explained the lawyer for the Bouglione family, owner of the Cirque d'hiver, in Le Parisien.

This time the show is scheduled at the Zénith de Paris on September 14, with this summary on the site of the hall: "Francis in the role of the Joker, the sad and disillusioned clown confronted with the ordinary madness of the characters interpreted by Dieudonné. »
