Actor: "T.C." from "Magnum": Roger E. Mosley died

The role of good-natured helicopter pilot "T.C." made him one of the most famous TV faces of the 1980s: According to media reports, US actor Roger E. Mosley has now died in an accident.

He died Sunday at a Los Angeles hospital from injuries sustained in a car accident on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times and The Hollywood Reporter, referring to the actor's daughter. Mosley was therefore 83 years old.

The broadcaster CNN refers to a Facebook message from the daughter, according to which Mosley died peacefully with his family. "We could never mourn such a great man," the Facebook post said. "We would LOVE every tear shed on his behalf. It's time to celebrate the legacy he left for all of us. Love you daddy."

Mosley was born in Los Angeles in 1938. He has acted in numerous films and series, best known for his role as Theodore "T.C." Calvin in the TV series "Magnum". The US series starring Tom Selleck was produced from 1980 to 1988. John Hillerman, who played the cranky estate manager Jonathan Higgins in "Magnum", died in 2017.
