Adventure and action in Hawaii: Sarah Engels responds to allegations that she would neglect her children on vacation

In December last year, singer Sarah Engels became a mother for the second time. Her daughter Solea Liana's father is ex-soccer player Julian Büscher, whom she had married a few months earlier. From her first marriage to singer Pietro Lombardi, the 29-year-old has the seven-year-old son Alessio.

With her husband Julian and their two children, Engels uses the summer holidays to travel extensively. The family of four initially traveled in a camper van in Italy and Switzerland, and after a stopover in Los Angeles they are currently in Hawaii. There they first explored the island of Oahu and then traveled on to Maui.

But just lying lazily on the beach for 14 days is not a vacation to Sarah Engels' taste. The singer loves action and adventure and regularly shares impressions of it on her Instagram account. For example, she and her husband climbed a volcanic crater, visited a facility where the "Jurassic Park" movies were filmed, and swung down a zipline. Seven-year-old Alessio was partially featured on the Instagram videos, but many followers wondered: where is almost eight-month-old Solea during these outings?

Sarah Engels now took a position on this. "I get this question very often and often even very reproachful messages on this subject. I think it's self-explanatory and self-evident for a lot of people, but apparently there's a need for clarification," wrote the singer in an Instagram story. She would never leave her children "unattended anywhere on the side" to "have a good time".

Her husband and she take turns looking after the children, and trips are also possible with children. "Sometimes a bit of creativity is required, but we've always been able to win with this attitude and have had wonderful moments as a family. Alessio has already been able to see so much of the world. This makes him cosmopolitan, lively and free. I get very often the question of how we go on all these trips with the children. You just can't be afraid of it and you have to be optimistic. Believe me, the feeling of a mother is transmitted sooo crassly to the children. I experienced that myself with Alessio and it done differently this time," says Engels.

The singer does not mention that she and her husband are in a financially privileged position, which allows them all these extraordinary trips and excursions. In return, the former DSDS second points out that not everything always runs smoothly in her everyday family life either. "What you see here on Instagram is a fraction of our day. Don't forget that. We sometimes have chaos or things just don't work as they should. I sometimes have doubts or bad days. We are all not perfect."

But the exciting time will soon come to an end: On August 10th, the new school year will start in North Rhine-Westphalia, where the Engels family lives, and Alessio will then start the second grade.
