Ben Affleck to Return as Batman in Aquaman 2

Actually, Ben Affleck (49) hung his bat mask on the famous nail. But now all signs point to another comeback as Batman. At least that's what a post by actor Jason Momoa (42) on his Instagram page suggests.

The 'Aquaman' actor is currently at Warner Studios in Los Angeles to film the second part of his signature role. Affleck was also evidently there: "Reunited Bruce and Arthur. Love and miss you. [...] Great things are coming. Aquaman 2." The two already stood side by side in their superhero costumes in the 2017 film Justice League.

US media such as "The Hollywood Reporter" also interpret the post as proof of Affleck's permanent return as a bat man alongside Momoa. Actually, Affleck announced in 2019 that he would no longer slip into the Batman role. Nevertheless, to the surprise of many, he already returns as Bruce Wayne in the film "The Flash", which has been postponed again and again.

What is particularly interesting is that "The Flash" was announced in June 2023 even later than "Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom", which is scheduled to hit the cinemas in March 2023. Affleck has appeared as Batman three times, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016) and Justice League (2017).

Before he announced his departure from Gotham City, a separate, pure Batman film was under discussion, in which Affleck would take on the role as well as the director. However, it never came to that. "The Batman" was finally filmed with Robert Pattinson (36) and directed by Matt Reeves (56) and was released this year.
