After a war, Chicago is isolated from the rest of the world and is trying a new social system: Each person must be assigned to one of five groups based on their predominant character trait. However, Tris (Shailene Woodley) fits into three factions - making her an "indeterminate". Since these are considered dangerous for the system, the brave girl has to fear for her life from now on.

Hubert (Harald Krassnitzer) and Viktor (Cornelius Obonya) couldn't be more different. One climber on the road to success, the other a small businessman with an organic shop. Small taunts between the two are part of everyday life, in which Viktor on the electric bike and Hubert in the luxurious SUV tend to set off. However, this increasingly changes when both decide to take part in an eco-competition. There, migrants from Eastern Europe work illegally for dumping wages and are exempted by "intermediaries". However, not only construction companies and their dubious subcontractors benefit from the exploitation.
