Regé-Jean Page: "Bridgerton"-Star "Fantastic" as Bond?

Regé-Jean Page (34) became a star with the Netflix series "Bridgerton". He could possibly go down in film history as James Bond. It has been discussed for some time whether Page could succeed Daniel Craig (54) as a cult agent. The Russo brothers, with whom Page co-directed action thriller 'The Gray Man' for the streaming service, seem to think the actor would be just the ticket for Bond.

Asked about the rumors about 007 and Page, Joe Russo (51) explains in an interview with the British program guide "RadioTimes": "He's fantastic." The 34-year-old has "more charisma in his little finger than most people have in their entire body". The two would therefore watch Page through everything: "I mean, we would watch him read the phone book."

"Yes," agrees his brother Anthony (52). The actor is a "very smart actor" and has "so much charm". Page stars alongside a host of other stars in The Gray Man, which premiered on Netflix on July 22. Ryan Gosling (41), Billy Bob Thornton (66) and Chris Evans (41) as well as Ana de Armas (34), known from "James Bond 007: No Time to Die", appear alongside him.

It will probably be a while before it is announced who will officially follow Craig as James Bond. In addition to Page's, names such as Henry Cavill (39), Michael Fassbender (45) and Tom Hardy (44) have recently been mentioned. It was not until the end of June that producer Barbara Broccoli (62) told the industry portal "Deadline" that "a reinvention of Bond" was in development and that the search for a successor had not yet begun. "We're reinventing who he is and that takes time." Filming for the next film is therefore expected to start in two years at the earliest.
