Cleveland Marks, 57, faces robbery, terroristic threats, criminal mischief and weapons charges.

Police say he entered the Super Food Supermarket on Pennington Avenue around 10 a.m. Friday, stole several tubes of toothpaste and walked out.

The manager chased after Marks, who then assaulted him, police said.

Marks fled into the nearby EZ Bargain store and stole an ice scraper. When the manager tried to stop him, he threatened him with the ice scraper before going back to Super Food and using it to break the plate-glass window, police said.

Marks then threatened the store employees before fleeing the area.

He was taken into custody not far from the shopping plaza, police said. There were no reported injuries.
